Implementation Toolkit
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Quality Standard
Methodology
Learn how this Implementation toolkit was created through the pathway below:
Needs Assessment and Analysis
A thorough review of 12 anonymized action plans from accelerated Ontario Health Teams implementing the COPD integrated clinical pathway was conducted to identify common gaps, barriers, and change ideas to inform the content of the toolkit.
Environmental Scan and Tool Inventory Build
An external vendor, E2I Consulting, conducted an environmental scan of all COPD resources that addressed the barriers and change ideas identified through the analysis report. A total of 132 resources were identified.
Resources Review & Selection
A working group of 18 members consisting of clinicians, researchers, and health system planners was assembled to help with the resource curation of the toolkit.
A modified RAND Appropriateness Method (also known as The Delphi Method) was used in the refinement of resources, with a total of 50 selected.
Website Design & Beta Testing
Through multiple rounds of feedback and beta-testing with key stakeholders, an interactive toolkit was developed.
